Pear Hugo Twist
A refreshing twist on the classic Hugo Spritz, our Pear Hugo is light, crisp and full of fresh summer flavours. Great at any time of the year. Made with Three Old Birds Spiced Pear Gin, it's the perfect cocktail.
Ingredients
50ml Three Old Birds Spiced Pear Gin
20ml elderflower liqueur (or elderflower cordial)
100ml Prosecco
50ml soda water
A handful of fresh mint leaves
Thin slices of fresh pear
Plenty of ice
Method
Fill a large glass with plenty of ice.
Add the Three Old Birds Spiced Pear Gin, elderflower liqueur (or cordial) and the fresh mint. Gently muddle the mint into the gin and elderflower to release its fresh, floral flavours.
Add the Prosecco, then top with soda water.
Give everything a gentle stir.
Garnish with fresh pear slices and a sprig of mint.
Top Bird’s Tip
For an extra zing, finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. It's one of our favourite ways to enjoy our Spiced Pear Gin and a cocktail we find ourselves making all year round.
Watermelon Limoncello Refresher
I actually discovered this cocktail by accident one New Year's Eve when I realised there was a huge bottle of Limoncello sitting in the drinks cupboard that had hardly been touched. Rather than letting it gather dust, I thought I'd see what happened if I mixed it with our Watermelon Vodka.
Wow... what a discovery!
The fresh watermelon, zesty citrus and sweet Limoncello work perfectly together, creating one of the most refreshing cocktails I've ever made. It's now one of my absolute favourites and a drink I find myself making all summer long.
Whether you're making one for yourself or a jug to share with friends, simply keep everything in equal parts.
Ingredients
50ml Three Old Birds Watermelon Vodka
50ml Limoncello
50ml fresh lemon or lime juice
A handful of fresh or frozen watermelon chunks
Plenty of ice
Lemonade or soda water to top
Fresh mint (optional)
Method
Add the fresh or frozen watermelon to a tall glass or jug.
Pour over the Three Old Birds Watermelon Vodka and Limoncello.
Gently muddle the watermelon into the spirits to release all that delicious fresh fruit flavour.
Fill the glass with plenty of ice.
Add the fresh lemon or lime juice and give everything a good stir.
Top with lemonade if you like your cocktails a little sweeter, or soda water for a lighter, crisper finish.
Garnish with a wedge of lemon or lime and a slice of fresh watermelon.
Three Old Birds Tip
Making cocktails for friends? It's easy! Simply use equal parts Three Old Birds Watermelon Vodka, Limoncello and fresh lemon or lime juice, then scale up the recipe depending on how many you're serving. Add plenty of fresh or frozen watermelon, top with lemonade or soda water to suit everyone's taste, and enjoy.
Cheers,

Spicy Cream Dream
If you love a cocktail that's smooth, creamy and just a little bit indulgent, then this one's for you.
The Spicy Cream Dream has become one of our favourite after-dinner cocktails. It combines the warming spices of our Three Old Birds Spiced Rum with the velvety richness of Baileys and coconut cream, finished with the gentlest hint of chilli to leave a subtle warmth on your palate. It's rich, comforting and guaranteed to impress.
Ingredients
50ml Three Old Birds Spiced Rum
25ml Baileys Irish Cream
75ml coconut cream
A tiny pinch of cayenne pepper or chilli powder (optional)
Plenty of ice
Method
Fill a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice.
Add the Three Old Birds Spiced Rum, Baileys, coconut cream and, if you're feeling adventurous, a tiny pinch of cayenne pepper or chilli powder.
Shake vigorously for around 15–20 seconds until beautifully chilled and silky smooth.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass or serve over fresh ice in a rocks glass.
Garnish
A cinnamon sugar rim
A light dusting of ground cinnamon
A small slice of fresh red chilli (optional) for those who enjoy a little extra heat
Three Old Birds Tip
This cocktail is delicious all year round but really comes into its own on cosy evenings. The secret is to add just enough chilli to create a gentle warmth that complements the creamy sweetness without overpowering it. If you're making these for friends, leave the chilli out of the shaker and let everyone add their own to taste.
